It's so easy even I can do it!!!
So can I!
Hi Keith, read your blog about Macaulay School. I was a pupil there from 1961-1965 before going to Australia. I remember Miss Varndell very well and her God-daughter Shirley Ryan who was in my class. You mentioned Derek McNeil . His brother Graham was my friend. I remember Wendy Longdon who I think was good at swimming. It was nice to read all your recollections of those days and see the pictures of the old school. Regards Eunice Hamnett.
My sincere apologies Eunice. I had completely forgotten that I had set this guestbook up.
It's always lovely to hear from a fellow pupil at Macaulay. "Bumped" into a few when Friends Reunited first started but after the initial flurry of memories, contact petered out. Coincidentally, I have plans to visit Clapham this week with my youngest (now 31) and show him around. It's all very different nowadays. I last went back in 2001 (I'm only in Oxfordshire so it's not exactly a long way to go!) and was astonished at the changes. There was a cafe in Old Town with tables and chairs on the pavement. My first thought was "In my day we'd have nicked those" :-)
Read your blog about Macaulay. I went there for a few years from 1961. I remember it very well and even a couple of the people you mention.
I now live in Australia but have made the pilgrimage to see the old place. Regards Eunice Hamnett
